Our goldendoodle who was allergic to almost everything.
Every new treat was a gamble. Most we lost. The scratching, the upset stomachs, the licking at paws at two in the morning.
We spent more time reading the backs of packets than handing out the treats inside them. The more we read, the more one thing became obvious: most treats are built to be cheap to make and easy to sell, not good for the dog eating them.
Then there was the protein problem. Chicken cubes, duck cubes, chicken-and-something cubes, stacked floor to ceiling in every shop. But Miya needed novel proteins. And those were either nowhere to be found, or priced like a luxury import.
So we decided to make the thing we couldn't buy.
Real meat. No nonsense.
Our freeze-dried treats are single ingredient. One named meat, freeze-dried to lock in the nutrients, and nothing else. No fillers to bulk it out, no sugar to make it moreish, no preservatives to give it a shelf life longer than your dog's. If it says venison, it's venison. That's the entire list.
We lean into novel proteins on purpose, the rarer red meats most shelves skip, because they're exactly what dogs like Miya need and exactly what's hardest to find well-made and fairly priced.
A treat should be something you can hand over without a second thought, and an ingredients list should be short enough to read out loud in the time it takes your dog to sit.
Supplements that earn their place in the bowl.
Treats were the start. The supplements are where we got serious.
The functional supplement aisle is full of products that name the right ingredient and then include almost none of it. A pinch of probiotic. A whisper of glucosamine. Enough to print on the label, not enough to do anything. We went the other way. Every BEANS supplement is dosed to actually work, grounded in veterinary nutrition research rather than whatever forms most cheaply into a chew.
We also build with dogs like Miya in mind. Our allergy and skin formulas skip the common triggers that send sensitive dogs into a scratching fit, because we've watched one too many "soothing" products quietly include the very thing causing the problem. When a dose needs to be high to matter, we make it high. When an ingredient adds nothing, we leave it out.
For Singapore dogs and the people who spoil them.
We're a Singapore brand, built for the dogs we know best. The pampered Pomeranians of the east coast, the sandy Singapore Specials, the sausage dogs who think they run the household. Small dogs, big dogs, fussy dogs, sensitive dogs, dogs who deserve better than the beige stuff in the supermarket aisle.
We keep our range tight on purpose. We'd rather do a handful of things genuinely well than fill a catalogue with products we wouldn't feed our own.
Everything we make has to pass one test.
