A novel protein is one your dog has rarely or never eaten, like ostrich, kangaroo, rabbit, or horse. Most food allergies build up against proteins a dog has eaten for years, usually chicken or beef. A protein the immune system has not learned to react to is far less likely to trigger a flare-up.
Start with a single novel protein your dog has not had before, and feed only that for a couple of weeks while you watch for changes. Our Rabbit, Ostrich, Kangaroo, and Horse treats are all single-ingredient, so there is nothing hidden to react to.
Yes. Our freeze-dried treats are one thing and one thing only. The protein on the label is the whole ingredient list.
Go slow. Start with a small amount and increase over a few days. This gives your dog's gut time to adjust and makes it easy to spot anything that does not agree with them.
Treats should stay within roughly 10% of your dog's daily calories. Exact amounts depend on your dog's size and the specific treat, so check the feeding guide on each product page.
Single-ingredient freeze-dried meat is generally fine for puppies in small amounts, but puppies have specific nutritional needs. If your dog is very young or has a health condition, check with your vet first.
Yes, our supplements are formulated for daily use at the dose on the label. Stick to the recommended amount for your dog's weight and do not double up.
In most cases yes, but if you are stacking several, or your dog is on medication or has a health condition, check with your vet so nothing overlaps or interacts.
If your dog is healthy and you are feeding at the labelled dose, our supplements are designed to be safe. If your dog is pregnant, on medication, or managing a medical condition, talk to your vet before starting anything new. We are not a substitute for veterinary advice.
